We are looking for a detail oriented, outgoing, dependable administrative assistant for an established ship repair company in Norfolk, VA. Qualified applicants will be scheduled to interview at our office.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Certificate
- Bachelors of Science (BS) degree preferred
- Engineering and/or ship repair industry experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Must have strong work ethic, be se1f-motivated, and able to multitask
- Strong computer skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Basic understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivables
Duties to Include:
- Provide administrative support to General Manager & satellite offices
- OSHA reporting/recording and file maintenance
- Submit security information to Shipyards for employee access
- Book travel arrangements for employees
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Organizing and scheduling appointments
- Planning meetings and taking detailed minutes
- Provide orientation to new hires & process all related paperwork, maintain employee files
- Maintain & balance petty cash
- Maintain office equipment & order all supplies for office as needed
- Provide general support for visitors
