What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Lead, Pathology-Clinical Services position at WakeMed Health & Hospitals?
Overview: The Team Leader, Pathology is responsible for the processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources and/or collects specimens on all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact. Responsible for verification of patient/specimen identification, appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders. Responsible for the daily organization of the Phlebotomy and/or Specimen Processing sections of the Clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include organization of daily workflow within the section, scheduling of staff for daily assignments, IS monitors related to specimen collection, training/education of staff, maintaining proper and complete training records in compliance with laboratory standards and accrediting agencies. Assists with the annual and introductory performance appraisals on assigned staff. Assists the supervisor with Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement activities. Assists with writing of new procedures and the updating of current procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Department Description:
