Position Description
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach in our Nursing Program. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis and may be assigned to day or evening courses.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

- Teaches primarily in the clinical and laboratory settings according to the course document
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Selects learning experiences that facilitate the student attainment of course student learning outcomes
- Selects clinical assignments that correlate with and reinforce learning from the classroom and which measure student ability to apply his/her knowledge in nursing care situations
- Supervises and evaluates student clinical performance
- Maintains clinical experience records and grades in accordance with institutional/departmental policies
Uses laboratory equipment safely and proficiently
Provides students with opportunity for evaluation of teaching effectiveness
Assists with ongoing curriculum implementation and evaluation
Remains up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Contributes to the development of course content
Attends course team meetings, professional meetings and community activities, as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Good organizational skills
Innovative, creative, motivated and work well with others
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills
Able to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistently
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Unofficial transcripts, resume or C.V. , and RN licensure number information must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application. A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
Must be able to complete the educational requirements of the Board of Nursing within three years of hire
Must have two (2) calendar year's prior full-time employment, or the equivalent, in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse and must have nursing practice experience in assigned clinical area
Preferences:
Master of Science in Nursing and teaching experience in a program at or above the level of associate degree nursing
