Wake Preparatory Academy is now accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute Special Education (EC) Teacher for the 2026 academic school year. This position will be needed from late August through October. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver instruction according to lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
- Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies and expectations.
- Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other assigned areas.
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Adapt to different grade levels, subject areas, and instructional needs as assigned.
- Record attendance and report any incidents, concerns, or issues to school administration.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass applicable background check
- North Carolina EC Teaching Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active or expired educator’s license
- Previous classroom or childcare experience
