Work First Review/Intake Team Lead will provide leadership to a team of Work First Review and Intake team manage a caseload of Employment Services. This positions serves as a Lead Worker for a team of Review workers and is part of the Social Services Economic Self Sufficiency team. This position is responsible for performing administrative tasks and case management functions on the team by assisting the Supervisor with administrative functions, providing support to the staff and maintaining a caseload of Review cases.
Please note selected candidates are required to complete 6 months in the office based on performance.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Responsibilities And Duties Of This Role Include
- Approving emergency leave requests and schedule changes in absence of Employment Supervisor
- Training staff on new policy and updates to existing policy
- Troubleshooting problem cases with staff and answering questions related to policy and procedures
- Assisting Supervisors with collecting cases and performing monitoring functions for audits and QA
- Collecting data for reports and acclimating new staff to the team and to the department by reviewing policy and procedure
- Facilitating training as needed and allowing new staff to shadow them as he/she performs normal day-to-day duties
- Providing feedback to the Supervisor regarding progress and performance of new and seasoned staff
- Managing and distributing the work for vacant caseloads
- Creating monthly duty calendar
- Serve as Hearing Officer for Work First hearings, as needed
- Coordinate Quarterly staff meetings
- Attend meetings in the Supervisor’s absence
- Extensive evaluation for intervention support services to empower clients to move toward self-sufficiency via employment. Intensive on- going employment case management
- Serve the clients by obtaining information and making the appropriate referrals to in-house and community resources
- Conduct monthly duty to attend to needs of walk-in participants and attend to phone calls from the public about the Work First Family Assistance Program. Serve the participants with a holistic approach to impact their lives and maintain self-sufficiency

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field
- Two years of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Bilingual - Spanish/English
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with NCFAST
- Experience working within a Document Management system
- Experience in leading a team
- Experience in determining Work First Services eligibility in Work First
- Ability to provide leadership to a team by assigning work, establishing work rules, and ensuring acceptable levels of quality and quantity of work
- Ability to review work
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Ability to convey information orally and in writing to individuals or groups to ensure they understand the message
- Knowledge of Work First intake or Employment Services
- Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals
- Ability to identify opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships between work unit, division or department and other groups (both internal and external) including other government agencies, stakeholders, and private organizations
