Wake County EMS is expanding our Logistics Team to support the continued growth of our community. In this role, you’ll work with the Assistant Chief of Logistics and other Logistics Technicians to ensure front-line units remain ready for emergency calls. You’ll verify and assemble medical supplies in prepacked bins and stock medical supplies in bags, ensuring that our operational teams have the tools necessary to provide world-class care.
Essential Functions
Wake County EMS is a cutting-edge emergency medical services system that is responsible for providing EMS services throughout Wake County including within each of the county’s 12 local municipalities. We have well-developed mobile integrated health (community paramedicine) and research programs. We responded to over 140,000 requests for 911 EMS services in 2024. The Logistics Technician is part of the logistics team within the Support Services Division, ensuring that our field staff and fleet are equipped to meet the critical needs of the EMS System.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

- Ensure EMS response readiness through inspection, preparation and distribution of supplies and equipment
- Prepare and seal medical supply bins, bags and equipment, auditing for accuracy
- Apply use of technology to ensure accurate bin and station inventory with appropriate dates/lots of supplies within kits and units
- Stock, inspect and ensure cleanliness of response units for readiness
- Deliver supplies and equipment to locations around the county
- Respond to tickets for as needed items

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High School Diploma
- No specific experience required
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record

- Experience with an electronic inventory management software
- Experience working with Operative IQ - Back Office and Frontline
- Experience working with equipment and supplies used in the delivery of Emergency Medical Services
- Experience working within a Public Safety Department or Government Agency
- Active EMT, AEMT or Paramedic Credential
- Class B Non-CDL driver’s license and experience operating large vehicles and trailers
- Ability to embrace the mission critical nature of the operation that this position supports
- Ability to understand the importance of precision and accuracy
- Ability to exhibit attention to detail and understand the level of importance of supplies in use
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously, completing daily work goals
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers and superiors
