Opportunity Summary
Waikiki Yacht Club is seeking an ambitious, hands-on Club Sous Chef. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated culinary professional to lead a dynamic kitchen team at one of Hawaiʻi’s most
iconic yacht clubs.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu
development, kitchen leadership, banquet execution, and food quality control. This role is ideal
for a rising star with creativity, leadership potential, and a passion for island-inspired cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
Lead kitchen operations for daily dining and special events
Design seasonal menus reflecting member preferences and local flavors
Mentor, train, and manage back-of-house staff with a focus on professionalism and
teamwork
Ensure compliance with food safety, cleanliness, and club service standards
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director and Events Team to execute high-quality
member events
Qualifications
3–5 years of culinary leadership experience, ideally as a Sous Chef in a private club or
upscale hotel setting
Strong culinary skills with attention to flavor, presentation, and consistency
Excellent time management, communication, and organizational abilities
Familiarity with Hawaiʻi’s local ingredients and culinary traditions preferred
