What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist the Pharmacist(s) in processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders. Review and enter orders and patient information into the pharmacy computer system. Process and assist in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory. Perform sales transactions and provide customer/patient/medical staff with appropriate information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services. File third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience
3. One year work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/clerk
4. Medical terminology
5. Billing experience
6. Customer relations
