What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Support Specialist position at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works under the general supervision of the Billing Services Manager. The Billing Support Specialist (BSS) is responsible for daily processes that help support the overall efficiency and functionality of the billing department. Daily functions include but are not limited to submitting claims, third party denials, eligibility, A/R projects. The ability to process data accurately and complete work assignments in a timely manner is required.
EDUCATION/:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required
2. Minimum of 1 year administrative experience in a corporate environment is required
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical setting and knowledge and experience working AR with third party insurance and FQHC billing and follow up preferred
4. Knowledge and experience processing third party accounts receivable required
5. Experience in Electronic Practice Management/Medical Records system required (Nextgen preferred)
