Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a high-acuity resident requiring total assistance. This role involves hands-on support to ensure the resident’s safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide full assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and feeding
- Perform safe transfers, repositioning, and mobility support using proper body mechanics and/or assistive equipment
- Observe and promptly report any changes in condition to appropriate staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
- Follow all care plans, infection control protocols, and facility policies
- Provide respectful companionship and emotional support
Minimum Qualifications:
- Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) certification preferred (per Hawaii guidelines)
- Prior experience with total care or high-acuity residents strongly preferred
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently in a 1:1 setting
Physical Requirements (Essential Functions):
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition up to 250 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly to resident care needs
