What You'll Do
You'll define and protect the creative heartbeat of the Wahl brand, ensuring everything we release is smart, strategic, and inspiring across every region we serve. Your day-to-day will include:
- Define the creative vision and brand identify for brand and sub-brands.
- In partnership with the Global Brand Team, establish the creative direction for brand, category, and product campaigns across multiple communication platforms.
- Delivers full go-to-market (GTM) kit of assets with creative and copy for regional adoption across all relevant communication channels.
- Inspire and motivate team of designers to create remarkable work for global adoption.
- Ensures maintenance of brand standards by reviewing and approving all package and campaign design concepts, illustrations and photography.
- Oversees or develops presentations for internal and external meetings.
- Supports the brand marketing and media teams to generate ideas to develop effective, results-driven creative marketing concepts.
- Consistently research, identify and share current design trends and competitive reviews as they relate to the brand.
- Demonstrates strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various design disciplines (color theory, typography, contrast, balance, repetition, alignment, etc.) to create high-value campaigns.
- Provide quality control including proofing, reviewing, measuring, and evaluating creative output performance.
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability
- Research and quote projects while adhering to budgets set forth by stakeholders
- Assists in photoshoot art direction and scheduling, and image retouching
Leadership
- Leads internal design team in creative concepting, through-out all design phases from initial overarching brand concept, through consumer testing and leadership approval.
- Lead internal (global and regional) and agency teams to develop inspiring, strategically driven campaigns, informed by data.
- Maintains regular communication with regional counterparts to ensure all are working with a holistic execution across all brand channels.
- Balance multiple campaigns and projects.
- Attends and oversee creative production when necessary.
- As a leader, sets examples through work, behavior, effort and attitude.
- Must be hands-on leader, willing to execute alongside the team.
- Supervise daily workflow, assign project workload, and monitor deadlines and budgets.
- Provide clear, insightful, and objective critiques of regional and global creative work in connection to the strategic vision.
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to regional and global creative team members, contractors, and outside agencies.
Budget & Performance Management
- Set and oversee creative development budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Review creative performance and optimize for continuous improvement and effectivenes
What You Bring
- 7 years of increasing responsibility with hands on creative development.
- 3 years of experience in leading the strategy and managing/mentoring creative teams.
- Experience managing campaign development with external agencies.
- Experience developing creative for global adoption.
- Expert at presenting ideas in all group sizes, both internally and externally.
- Strong knowledge of 360 campaign development and creative process.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for brilliant copy and beautiful design.
- Instinct to lead with vision and creative inspiration.
- Comfortable estimating and scoping projects.
- Proven experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite, MS Word, PPT, and Excel.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a clear sense of priorities.
- Experience consulting with cross-functional partners and business leaders on artistic and creative direction.
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor from a creative/design perspective.
- Understand the essential role visual design plays in helping to interpret stories, engage audiences and meet organization-wide goals.
- A strategic thinker with a broad vision, a Senior Graphic Designer can challenge conventional boundaries and stays current on innovations and best practices in the fields of design and design-related technology.
