Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, animal-loving Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering excellent patient care. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in veterinary medicine in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
- Restrain and handle animals safely and calmly during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
- Assist with taking vital signs, collecting samples, and basic lab work
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts
- Answer phones, greet clients, and help schedule appointments as needed
- Educate clients on medications, home care instructions, and general pet wellness
- Restock and organize medical supplies and inventory
- Support surgical prep and recovery as directed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred, but not required
- Certified/Registered Veterinary Assistant credential a plus
- Comfortable handling animals of varying temperaments and sizes
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional manner with clients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Willingness to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
