What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Data Collector position at Wagner Technical Services, Inc?
- Field Data Collectors needed to travel overnight Monday-Friday to Rochester, NY, New Hampshire, and other areas with to survey pole lines throughout the North East. The successful candidate will utilize the latest technology to collect information needed for the installation of new high-speed fiber optic cables. Previous utility data collection experience preferred, but we will train the right person.
The job involves traveling with OVERNIGHT stays MONDAY-FRIDAY to collecting data on utility poles with a tablet computer, rangefinder, DSLR camera, and other equipment. You will walk down the road measuring distance between poles, distance to anchors and pole heights. You will record information about what type of wires and equipment is on each pole on an Android device.
The work will be in various parts of the region. Per Diem will be paid for work requiring overnight stays. This job is 100% travel.
We provide all computer and measuring equipment. There is NO climbing or working with live electrical equipment.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a Cell phone.
- Be willing to travel overnight Monday - Friday.
- Be capable of walking all day and working outdoors. We do not work in the rain or snow, but we will be working through all four seasons.
- Be technically savvy.
- Be respectful of other people’s property.
- The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in engineering, but this is not a requirement.
- We require a Drug test and Background verification.
