Wagner Machine Company is a growing manufacturer of precision-machined parts for industries including aerospace, defense, electronics, and semiconductors. 

We are seeking a technically capable individual with excellent trouble-shooting skills to help us maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop floor. The Maintenance Assistant works to diagnose and repair machinery that has broken down and manages repairs throughout the company. This individual collaborates daily with machinists, managers, quality control, and support staff.

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Assistant ensures that our shop, supplies, and machines are always ready to make “impossible” parts. The ideal candidate must understand that their contribution has an immediate and direct impact on the efficiency and productivity of our machinists. The person in this position must be able to work in a team environment and build effective working relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery
• Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery at scheduled intervals with minimal supervision  
• Assist with preventative maintenance on forklift, scissor lift, and company vehicles  
• Maintain required documentation and service logs  
• Assist warehouse personnel with recycling 
• Assist in monitoring 5S initiatives and compliance 
• Monitor safety compliance and assist with maintenance-led safety programs 
• Communicate with department leads to fulfill daily maintenance requirements or assigned tasks 
• Maintain accountability to performance standards and core values
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and equipment 
• Other duties as assigned 

What You'll Bring

• Qualification as a U.S. person under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
• Ability to pass a physical exam, drug screen, and background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift 70 lbs. and pass a drug-screen and background check
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to communicate in English
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• An independent and motivated mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Training or experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

• LEAN manufacturing or 5S environments
• ISO9001 or AS9100D-certified business
• Reading wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
• Troubleshooting circuits and motor controls
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Technical or vocational training

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience
