Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate patient flow, and manage cancellations or rescheduling requests with professionalism
- Collect and process payments, insurance information, and perform medical billing using health insurance knowledge
- Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and provide exceptional patient service
- Assist with intake procedures, verify insurance coverage, and facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff
- Manage filing of medical records, perform data entry tasks and support office organization with clerical duties like faxing, scanning, and document review
- Travel to satellite office locations across the Siouxland area
Experience
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with orthodontic or dental practices is a plus
- Experience in medical administrative support including scheduling, billing, and coding is preferred
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records systems
- Knowledge of health information management standards including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a valuable asset
- Demonstrated clerical experience involving filing, data entry, and office management tasks
- Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation review processes, and electronic health records management in a healthcare setting
