To enhance and maintain the College’s grounds to provide a positive impression to existing and prospective students, employees, and visitors.

Job Purpose
To enhance and maintain the College’s grounds to provide a positive impression to existing and prospective students, employees, and visitors.
Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Perform daily maintenance of landscape areas throughout the College campus and related locations
- Operate tractors, lawn mowers, and trucks with standard transmission
- Mow, line trim, and maintain all Wagner properties and athletic fields
- Trim shrubs, bushes, and trees on Wagner properties and athletic fields
- Collect garbage throughout Wagner properties and athletic fields
- Paint lines, letters, and numbers on athletic fields as required
- Apply fertilizer and chemicals to Wagner properties and athletic fields
- Participate in rotating field maintenance schedules based on athletic events and games
- Report to work during snow events as required for on-call assignments
- Shovel and plow snow on all Wagner properties
- Apply ice melting chemicals to streets, paths, and staircases during snow and ice conditions
- Assist with installation and repair of turf irrigation systems on Wagner properties and athletic fields
- Dig trenches, plant, grade, and landscape Wagner properties and athletic fields as required

Work Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience in landscaping and landscape maintenance
- Ability to drive standard transmission vehicles, including tractors and trucks
- Mechanical skills working with lawn mowers, line trimmers, chain saws, and gas trimmers
- Experience in gardening required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- N/A
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to respond to hazardous weather conditions including snow, ice, freezing rain, or falling trees
- Availability to work overtime as needed, including during College events such as Open House, Homecoming, Commencement, and athletic events
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- N/A
- Ability to communicate effectively with various campus constituencies
- Position is included in the Local 30, I.U.O.E AFL-CIO bargaining unit and is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Local 30 and Wagner College
- Must supply two (2) letters of recommendation
- Ability to work overtime when necessary
- Position requires working in an outdoor environment
