Position: HR Intern

Travel: report to Corporate Office York, PA

Pay Range: $18 – $22per hour; Based on experience

We are currently seeking an HR Intern to join our Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. team. Reporting to the Corporate HR Director, the HR Intern is responsible for assisting the Director and HR team with coordinating and executing human resources related tasks to include but not limited to entering data for new hires into systems, sending out requested emails, assisting with trainings and events and organizing and/or maintaining confidential data. This position works along with the entire Human Resources Team to support the completion of assigned projects and helps ensure all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all HR information
  • Help with ad hoc projects as needed
  • Assist HR team with sending out new hire emails, keeping in touch postcards and other requested information
  • Entering data for new hires into systems
  • Assisting with training such as EEO training, Ethics and more
  • Organizing and updating list of retention documents
  • Assist the Event Committee with tasks for planning and organizing as requested
  • Completing E-Verify tasks and data entry
  • Organizing Legal and HR SharePoint sites

Physical Requirements Of The Essential Functions

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
