Title: Senior Superintendent
Travel: some, MD and PA
Position Summary:
This position reports to management in our Wagman Construction branch, performing commercial and residential work such as senior living communities, hospitals, educational facilities and more. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities on a construction site. This includes ensuring the project progresses according to schedule and contract documents, by managing subcontractors, suppliers and WCI self-perform labor. The role provides on-site direction to ensure quality, maintain safety standards and achieve project goals.
Required Qualfications
High school diploma or GED, basic reading and writing skills
Minimum 8 years' experience in project planning and scheduling, managing people and subcontractors, and in-depth working knowledge of construction trades
Essential Functions:
- Overall planning and management of assigned projects
- Perform each project successfully including project scheduling and controlling direct job material and labor expenses
- Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with the contract documents and quality standards
- Actively promote subcontractor client relationships
- Enforce labor agreements
- Manage multiple superintendents on a single project
- Teach and/or mentor superintendents
- Perform Employee Development Discussions, goal setting
- Act as building component or content expert
- Assist EVP with hire/fire/promotions of operations personnel
- Visit job sites regularly to ensure alignment with core values
- Resolve complex issues or situations that may arise
- Perform each project successfully including project scheduling and controlling direct job material and labor expenses
- Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract documents and high-quality standards of the company
- Hold planning meetings to include the owner and subcontractors, to coordinate construction operations with the activities of the facilities
- Developing with PM and CPM, scheduling using Primavera P6
- Develop a project specific job safety program
- Present comments and relative concerns to site logistics, construction, materials sections and required details
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level and 30 lbs. above shoulder level occasionally
- Able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, and climb (i.e., ladders, scaffolding, etc.) throughout the workday.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
- Ability to travel to project sites and work at heights above 6 feet as necessary.
- Must have acceptable corrected vision and hearing
