Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join our team in our Birmingham, AL or Huntsville, AL office. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil/site projects from concept through design and delivery
- Prepare and oversee design for grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout
- Perform and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and reports
- Serve as engineer of record and ensure strong QA/QC on all deliverables
- Coordinate with architects, developers, and internal disciplines to support integrated project delivery
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure on-time, on-budget performance
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers
- Participate in client meetings and support proposal development as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Active PE license required (or ability to obtain within six months if applicable)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or civil infrastructure
- Strong experience with grading, drainage, and utility design
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and standard design tools
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with both private development and public-sector clients
- Familiarity with local permitting and regulatory processes
- Experience supporting business development or client relationship management
