GIS Analyst / Specialist I

Description

The GIS Specialist I have a strong foundation in GIS principles and technologies, particularly with ArcGIS software suite. This role supports various disciplines within our engineering firm, providing spatial analysis, data management, and cartographic support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and analysis of spatial datasets using ArcGIS software.
• Conduct spatial analysis to support engineering projects, including site suitability analysis, network analysis, and spatial modeling.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand GIS requirements and deliver solutions tailored to their needs.
• Manage and maintain GIS data repositories, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Produce high-quality cartographic products for reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Provide technical support and training to colleagues on ArcGIS software and related GIS tools.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in ArcGIS technology and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows and efficiency.
• Assist in the implementation and administration of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
• Support the integration of GIS with other engineering software and systems.
  
  

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS software suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial analysis techniques, and cartographic principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Experience with Python scripting and/or ArcGIS API for Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is desirable.
• Familiarity with engineering disciplines (e.g., civil engineering, environmental engineering) is advantageous.
