MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (MTQs): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications.
MTQ 1: Demonstrated experience in applying knowledge of Federal Labor Standards, Laws, and Regulations, and in providing advice and guidance on complex program objectives, controversial policy issues, and precedent-setting activities that could have major implications for regulations, legislation, and policies relating to enforcement and outreach objectives and functions.
MTQ 2: Demonstrated experience in formulating Regional policies and procedures to support National agency programs, goals, and objectives.
EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs): In addition to the Technical Qualification Requirements listed above, all new entrants into the Senior Executive Service (SES) under a career appointment will be assessed for executive competency against the following five mandatory ECQs. Note: If you are a member of the SES or have been certified through successful participation in an OPM approved SES Candidate Development Program (SESCDP), or have SES reinstatement eligibility, you do not need to respond to the ECQs. Instead, you should attach proof (e.g., SF-50, Certification by OPM's SES Qualifications Review Board (QRB)) of your eligibility for noncompetitive appointment to the SES.
Responsibilities:
- Directs, coordinates and administers all aspects of WHD programs in a region, representing the Wage and Hour Administrator on all matters, regarding such programs within the Region.
- Plans, formulates, develops, and executes regionwide programs and policies to carry out the mission and objectives of the program and provides executive direction to the subordinate WHD offices within the Region to ensure appropriate program emphasis and accomplishment of priorities in relationship to overall regional program objectives.
- Exercises broad delegated program and administrative authority in determinations relative to the proper accomplishment of program functions in the Region.
- Provides leadership and guidance in maintaining contacts with community, civic, business, and educational groups within the region.
- Maintains effective relations with the communications media of the Region, such as television, radio, newspaper, and trade or professional journals.
- Plans and directs other regionwide efforts to promote understanding of and compliance with WHD program requirements.
