We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. Family, locally owned business dedicated to the love and care of animals and their owners, our neighbors. Beautiful store in heavily trafficked area that already has large customer base with appointments booking out 3 weeks. Location and setting will allow you to quickly build clientele. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services as well as a strong background in grooming with experience as well as knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and care of various pets, ensuring they look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. This role requires excellent animal handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service to meet the expectations of our customers. Excellent opportunity to build a quick client base. Scheduling is through an online portal and by messaging with grooming duties being prioritized. Payments are handled by retail staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, full-body haircuts utilizing both clipper and scissor work and nail clipping for dogs and other pets.
- Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin, providing recommendations for appropriate grooming treatments.
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after use.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Handle animals with care and restraint using fear free techniques to ensure their safety and comfort during grooming procedures.
- Provide additional services such as ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and skin treatments as needed.
- Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming history and any special instructions from owners.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
- Contribute to an overall positive culture focused on teamwork and cooperation.
Must be an experienced groomer to be considered.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques, including fear free restraint methods for various breeds.
- Experience in pet care, including bathing, brushing, and basic grooming techniques.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and procedures is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with neighbors.
- Background in veterinary technician duties or animal care is a plus.
- Knowledge of dog training principles can enhance the grooming experience for both pets and owners.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards in grooming services.
