Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring that every pet receives a safe, comfortable, and high-quality bathing experience. This role includes bathing, brushing, drying, and preparing dogs for grooming, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, and enjoys working with animals of all sizes and temperaments.
Key Responsibilities
- Bathe, brush, and dry dogs according to breed standards or groomer instructions.
- Detangle and de-shed coats using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Handle pets safely and kindly, ensuring minimal stress and maximum comfort.
- Identify and report any signs of skin conditions, parasites, or injuries to the groomer.
- Keep bathing and drying areas clean, disinfected, and well-stocked.
- Assist groomers with preparing dogs for full grooming services.
- Follow all safety, animal welfare, and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals (preferred, but not always required).
- Ability to handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Basic knowledge of dog breeds and coat types is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and passionate about animal care.
Work Environment
- Indoors in a grooming salon.
- Frequent exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and pet hair/dander.
