Wade College in Dallas, Texas is seeking an Adjunct Professor of Business Computer Applications to support instruction in our business and technology curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and experienced professional who can effectively teach practical workplace software skills and help students build competency in business applications. This position will be on-campus.
Key Responsibilities
As an Adjunct Professor, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student success in the Business Computer Applications course:
• Teaching: Teach assigned course in business computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technologies. Course may be scheduled during daytime or evening hours.
• Student Support and Engagement: Advise students on academic progress and support student success through timely feedback, communication, and engagement. Participate in college activities and meetings as appropriate.
• Curriculum and Instruction: Ensure student mastery of course competencies and maintain high standards for course content, quality, and effectiveness. Submit syllabi, course materials, and assessments as required.
• Professional Development: Remain current in business software applications and instructional best practices, including distance learning technologies.
• Administrative Duties: Report student progress and attendance as required. Recommend textbooks, software, instructional materials, and resources. Attend faculty and in-service meetings. Maintain course records, complete trimester assessment reports, and comply with all college policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
• Master’s degree required.
• Must meet one of the following:
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Business, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field; OR
- Master’s degree in a related field with documented competencies in business computer applications (including a combination of graduate coursework, industry certifications, and/or relevant professional experience).
- • Teaching experience preferred, but not required.
- • Microsoft Office certifications (e.g., Microsoft Office Specialist) strongly preferred.
Experience:
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Relevant professional experience using business software applications in a workplace setting preferred.
• Experience teaching or training in business applications or related subjects preferred.
Location: Must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Availability: Must be available to teach on campus, including daytime or evening courses.
