What are the responsibilities and job description for the Competitive Level Youth Hockey Coach position at Waconia Hockey Association?
The Waconia Youth Hockey Association is looking for non-parent coach applicants at the Squirt, Pewee, and Bantam boys levels and at the U13, U12, and U10 at the girls level. Our coaches are some of the highest paid in the metro and we include paid travel for out of town tournaments reimbursement of expenses.
The Waconia Hockey association is dedicated to the development and advancement of their athletes. The WHA has a top tier in season off ice program for competitive teams, robust practice schedule, and an experienced and supportive hockey development committee that will support coaches needs/requests.
Waconia Hockey Association is currently seeking coaches for it's 2026-2027 season.
Non-parent coaches are paid - $4,000 for Head Coach position and $1,500 for Assistant Coaches.
Qualifications:
· Candidates should have ice hockey coaching and playing experience
· 3 years’ experience coaching at applied level or higher preferred but not required
· Multiple year commitment to head coaching role preferred
· Non-parent of current WHA athlete preferred
· Schedule allows to be present at vast majority of games and practices, including evenings and weekends
· Ability to travel within the state of MN
· Hiring is conditional on the successful completion of a criminal background check; applicants should also either possess or be able to attain required background clearances and necessary USA Hockey coaching certification
