Waco Ophthalmology is seeking a motivated and dynamic Medical Office Manager to oversee daily operations and support the continued success of the practice. The Medical Office Manager will be closely involved in day-to-day operations, with a strong emphasis on leading staff, directing customer service activities, and promoting a professional and positive business image.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support office staff, including HR-related responsibilities
- Review and approve payroll and PTO requests
- Coordinate with MCG regarding accounting, IT, and social media functions
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources (optometrists)
- Oversee facility maintenance and vendor coordination
- Perform general office management duties, including tasks currently handled by leadership
- Assist with front desk operations, including answering phones, patient check-in, and check-out (especially during the initial transition)
Qualifications:
- Medical office experience required; billing knowledge preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Professional and approachable presence as the face of the practice
- Ability to manage employee relations and handle difficult conversations professionally
- Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to consistently report to work by 7:30 AM
