PRIMARY DUTIES:
Direct Care
- Diagnose and deliver goal-oriented interventions for anxiety, depression, trauma and stressor related disorders, adjustment disorders, ADHD and other behavioral health conditions as appropriate.
- Provide individual psychotherapy
- Offer group psychotherapy as needed and appropriate
- Provide appropriate clinical crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
- Use standardized tools to guide care and measure outcomes.
- Coordinate access to medical pharmacotherapy as indicated
- Engage parents/guardians in care planning, progress updates, and family treatment when appropriate.
Care Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with Waco Family Medicine providers for medical social service referrals.
- Document services in electronic health record and meet all compliance standards.
- Adhere to all WFM compliance, HIPAA, child abuse reporting, and clinical risk management guidelines.
- Care coordination and application of measurement-based care
Program Development & Outcomes
- Track caseloads, service utilization, referral closures, and outcomes to contribute to program dashboards.
- Support grant and funding requirements as applicable.
EXAMPLE MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Access: time-to-first-visit ≤10 school days.
- Clinical: ≥5-point improvement on PHQ-A or GAD-7 for students with baseline elevation.
- School Partnership: Positive feedback from school staff on collaboration and communication; adherence to FERPA/HIPAA data-sharing agreements.

REPORTS TO: PROJECT MANAGER, School-Based Services
LOCATION: Elementary School campus in partnership with Waco Independent School District, with occasional work at Waco Family Medicine sites.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The School-Linked Behavioral Health Clinician provides compassionate, evidence-based counseling and support for middle school students with Waco Family Medicine, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Active Texas license as LPC, LPC-Associate (under supervision), or LCSW.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, short-term therapy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience providing therapy to children/adolescent
- Experience in school or community-based settings.
- Training in evidence-based practices for youth (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, DBT skills).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare job markets, including physician and clinical staffing trends.
- Proven ability to source passive candidates through creative and proactive methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS systems; experience with Paycom a plus.
- Familiarity with FQHC requirements, HRSA guidelines, and loan repayment programs (NHSC, state loan repayment) preferred.
