Serve the underserved with like-minded people! Waco Family Medicine is a large Federally Qualified Health Center in Central Texas with 12 locations across Waco, Temple, McGregor, and Hillsboro.

Offering a wide range of services, we pride ourselves on a strong commitment to equitable, evidence-based holistic medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare. Our community health center is a designated Patient Centered Medical Home, coordinating a robust collaborative community health partnership (wellness center, prescription produce program, teaching kitchen, medical legal partnership). In addition to in-house pharmacy, WFM provides a sizeable network of in-house specialty service clinics (HIV, Hep C, Sports Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Wound Care). Through these various programs, we offer comprehensive, affordable primary care to patients across a broad range of demographics. About the Role

We are seeking candidates whose professional goals are to achieve equitable health outcomes. Our patient population of 75,000 patients is 67% minority with 20% Spanish-speaking. We are also deeply committed to the health and well-being of our clinicians and staff. Responsibilities

• Must have a genuine desire to continuously learn and provide high-quality patient care
• Seeing ambulatory patients of the Center as scheduled and assigned by Center
• Maintain full privileges for practice of clinical medicine at Family Health Center
• Abide by the ethics of the medical profession and all federal, state and local laws and ordinances applicable to his/her practice.
• Diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, from acute conditions to chronic diseases, using clinical assessments and diagnostic tests
• Providing preventive care, including routine check-ups, immunizations, health screenings, and lifestyle counseling to promote long-term wellness.
• Developing and implementing treatment plans for chronic conditions, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting therapies as needed
• Patient education, offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Referring patients to specialists when advanced care is required and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
• Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting patient history, examination results, and treatment plans
• Participate in committees'/work groups as assigned

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school program.
• Board eligible or Board certification required.
• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
• Current DEA & DPS license. Current BLS certification

Required Skills

• Provision of clinical healthcare services for clients in an ambulatory clinic setting.
• High level of initiative, judgement, discretion and decision-making to achieve clinic's mission
• Exercise judgement in developing, applying, and interpreting clinical policies and procedures
• Proficiency in medical software and equipment, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience may vary depending on whether the physician will work independently or supervise less experienced staff
• Compassion for the vulnerable and underserved populations

Preferred Skills

• Provision of prenatal care is encouraged for qualified applicants but not required
• Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred, though not required.
