We are seeking an Aircraft Assembly Associate for our Battle Creek, Michigan campus. Join a Legacy. Lead with Precision.
What You’ll Do:
At WACO Aircraft, we’re not just assembling airplanes — we’re crafting aviation legends by hand. As the world’s only manufacturer of 1930s-style biplanes, and a proud member of the DIMOR Group, we blend classic craftsmanship with cutting-edge precision. From restoring timeless aircraft to engineering modern light-sport planes like the Junkers A50, our team brings dreams to life in the skies. We're looking for hands-on, detail-driven Aircraft Assembly Associates who want to take their skills to new heights. You will:
Component Assembly
- Assemble aircraft components including wings, fuselage sections, control surfaces, and landing gear.
- Follow detailed blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions with precision.
- Install fasteners, brackets, wiring harnesses, and structural elements.
System Integration
- Connect vital aircraft systems: avionics, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel.
- Conduct functionality tests and inspections to ensure top-notch performance and safety.
Quality First
- Perform inspections at key stages to identify defects and ensure flawless assembly.
- Maintain accurate records of processes and quality checks.
Safety & Compliance
- Always follow strict safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
- Stay compliant with FAA regulations and internal procedures.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
Tools & Equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment with skill and accuracy.
- Report malfunctions or tool issues promptly to keep production on track.
Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors, and fellow technicians.
- Communicate clearly and professionally to resolve issues and keep things moving.
- Contribute ideas that improve processes and quality.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
- Team player with solid communication skills
- Physically capable of lifting and moving large components
- Adaptable and focused in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred:
- Technical training in aircraft assembly
- Hold an Airframe and Powerplant License
- Experience working with aircraft or in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with aviation safety and FAA compliance
