CNC Machinist / Programmer

Wackel’s Machine Shop is a growing precision machine shop located in Crete, Nebraska. We specialize in high-precision, low-volume machined parts for a wide range of industries. We are currently expanding and are looking for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality work and solving problems independently.
We are also actively preparing to become an ISO-certified facility, so attention to detail, organization, and process discipline are extremely important.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced machinist with strong CNC machining knowledge and the ability to operate both CNC and manual equipment. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling jobs from print review through final machining with minimal supervision.
This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically looking for candidates with at least 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience operating both CNC lathes and CNC mills.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
Strong experience operating:
CNC lathes
CNC mills
Manual lathes and mills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
Experience with tight tolerance, precision machining
Proficient in:
SolidWorks
CAD/drafting software
Strong setup and troubleshooting skills
Ability to inspect and verify precision parts
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Strong work ethic and reliability
This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically looking for candidates with at least 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience operating both CNC lathes and CNC mills.
Applicants without at least 5 years of CNC lathe and CNC mill experience will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Welding and fabrication experience
CNC programming experience
Experience in job shop or prototype environments
