PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As a Bartender/Server, you will be responsible for maintaining the bar area, serving members and guests, and filling drink orders for dining areas. You will also be responsible for handling point-of-sale transactions, assisting with inventory, and performing safety and sanitation protocols.

DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a welcoming environment for all members and guests.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
• Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar area(s) are well stocked.
• Complete month end inventory count sheets.
• Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies. Perform pre-and post-shift side-work (empty/fill ice bins, prepare garnishments, replenish/store snacks, etc.).
• Ensure all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of shift.
• Plan drink menu and inform customers about new drinks and specials.
• Promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenues.
• Learn and be versed in all menu selections.
• Educate members and guests about food and beverage selections.
• Transmit orders to kitchen by recording customers' choices, identifying customers’ special dietary needs and special requests.
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering customers’ choices from kitchen.
• Provide attentive service to members and guests throughout their dining experience.
• Promptly address any customer service issues in a professional manner and refer to management if necessary.
• Perform proper safety and sanitation standards. Inspect the bar daily for cleanliness and attractiveness and inspect all equipment and machinery for proper operation. Report issues to the Food and Beverage Manager.
• Handle all aspects of point-of-sale transactions.
• Protect establishment and customers by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Follow uniform and personal appearance standards, as well as all employee standards outlined in the employee handbook(s).
• Other duties as assigned by Food and Beverage Manager, Catering and Events Manager, or General Manager.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous bartending and serving experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of liquor mixed drinks, beer, and wine.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and has an ability to multi-task.
• Ability to monitor customers for signs they have had too much alcohol.
• Capacity to be on your feet for long hours.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, rotate, climb, stand, push, lift, grasp, and reach.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness to work with or around sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or flying golf balls.
• TIPS certification preferred.
