A successful candidate will recognize opportunities to close profitable orders, supply proactive delivery schedules and provide top notch quality customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quotations to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quotation packages for moderately complex projects.
- Collect and prepare crucial project data to deliver quotes quickly, accurately, competitively, and transparently as requested by Inside Sales, outside sales reps and customers.
- Follow-up on open and outstanding quotes to ensure timely closure by logging awarded and rejection reasons.
- Coordinate bid strategy to maximize profitability with outside sales representatives by interpreting customer requirements.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge in order to proactively recognize and avoid project issues.
- Work across departments to resolve rep and customer issues concerning project lead times, pricing and competition.
- Ensure that correct reps are receiving sales and commission credit.
- Maintain accurate data across our ERP and CRM systems.
- Review quotation margins to align with company policy and escalate when needed.
- Create and supply air freight quotations as needed.
- Coordinate component pricing with other team members for replacement parts.
- Providing timely responses to the team’s inquiries responding with accurate information.
- Maintain system data accurately within SAP and our CRM software.
- Maintain appropriate margin levels on quoted projects.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or adjacent discipline.
- 2-4 years of professional quotation or sales support experience in B2B industry.
- Proven high level verbal and written communication skills, project management, organizational skills and independent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in composing materials, establishing priorities and meeting challenging deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Prior use of an ERP or MRP software system to process orders (SAP a plus).
- Experience in the commercial lighting industry is a plus.
