What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift) position at Wabash General Hospital?
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) possesses sufficient training and experience to perform respiratory care procedures as prescribed, with limited supervision and in accordance with departmental policies and approved procedures, to patients of all ages, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The RRT is also a vital part of the ACLS and Rapid Response Team, performing CPR and ventilations as required for the situation. The RRT is also responsible for cardiac and respiratory diagnostic procedures. Along with the various other duties the RRT will clean, maintain, and troubleshoot all equipment.
Hours: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am
Requirements:
- Graduate of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC) approved program of respiratory care and licensed by the state of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. AAS degree required, but Bachelors of Science degree preferred.
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Maintain a current CPR card or must obtain a current CPR card within orientation period.
- ACLS preferred.
- Clinical experience in all aspects of respiratory care, extensive critical care background preferred.
