Description
The Certified Pharmacy Technician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service to customers/patients of all ages including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Fills drug orders for inpatients under direct supervision of the Pharmacist (either cart fills or new drug orders). Prepares and distributes IV medication under the supervision of the Pharmacist. Maintains pharmacy administration records. Completes forms and reports as directed by the Pharmacist. Helps with inventory management including DSCA compliance, distributing medications to clinics, reordering thru Premier for pharmacy and helping manage supplies. Other duties include checking stock areas for outdated medications, processing expired medications for return and filling employee prescriptions.

Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent. College or technical training preferred.
- Computer experience with Epic and QS1 is preferred.
- Passage of the Illinois Council of Hospital Pharmacists: Certified Pharmacy Technician exam.
- Working knowledge of sterile technique.
- General knowledge of drug products and dosage forms.
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- May be required to work any day of the week, including holidays and weekends.
- Maintain continuing education requirements mandated by Illinois Board of Pharmacy.
