Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience operating lawn mowers, trimmers, and other grounds maintenance equipment preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safe operation and basic maintenance of grounds equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and the public.
- Willingness to perform other grounds and maintenance duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Mow, trim, and edge grass on school district properties, including campuses, athletic fields, and other district-owned grounds.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment in a safe manner.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Remove litter, debris, and fallen branches from grounds to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with landscaping activities, including planting, mulching, watering, and weed control, if assigned.
- Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor areas to ensure a neat appearance and safe conditions.
- Assist with athletic field preparation and maintenance as needed.
- Follow all district safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Report safety hazards, property damage, and equipment issues promptly.
- Support custodial and maintenance staff with special projects and event setup as assigned.
