Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment used in food processing and packaging, adhering strictly to safety standards and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Follow detailed production schedules using SAP or similar manufacturing management systems to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain strict compliance with FDA regulations, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and other regulatory/legal standards governing food safety and quality assurance.
- Assist in sanitation and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe production environment, including proper cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process, conducting inspections to meet quality standards in production and food safety.
- Manage packaging operations efficiently while ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and handling of products.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, waste reduction, and productivity increases.
- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely when required to move raw materials or finished goods.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, safety concerns, or equipment issues.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing management within the food & beverage industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety management standards is essential.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar manufacturing management software is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of quality standards in production, sanitation procedures, and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to food processing equipment and machinery operation is desirable.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements, ingredient quantities, or inventory counts.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely is a plus.
- Excellent managerial communication skills for managing teams or coordinating with supervisors effectively.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with strict adherence to GMPs and food safety protocols is required.
