Position Summary:
As the Catering Coordinator you are responsible for the planning, preparation, and delivery of meals for individuals currently participating in our residential program as well as all events hosted by our organization. You will also collaborate with program staff to ensure meals and events align with organization’s vision, that all workstations are maintained, and that budgets are adhered to.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive meal plan and snack options for our residential detox program, adhering to specific needs and requests of patients and facility.
- Prepare, portion, and deliver both fresh and frozen meals/snacks to residential detox program.
- Prepare comprehensive food and beverage menus for events, coordinating with program staff to ensure menu aligns with event vision, needs, and goals.
- Complete all ordering for meal preparation, using designated vendor(s) while maintaining nutritional requirements and allotted budget.
- Develop and maintain inventories.
- Maintain clean and sanitary workspaces.
- Track and complete all reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and organizational regulations.
- Delivery of meals and snacks to Cedar Road Detox twice per week.
- Oversight of food service at all events, including delivery, serving, and clean up.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
- 3-5 years’ experience in catering/event planning required.
- Experience developing events and long-term menus.
- ServSafe Certified Food Manager required. If not current, must be obtained withing 30 days of hire.
- Proven ability to successfully plan, coordinate, and complete events of varied scopes and scales.
- Must have and maintain valid Driver’s License and have the ability to be insured under organization’s auto insurance policy.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Ability to adapt quicky to changes, identify effective solutions, and develop proactive processes.
- Strong, professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent physical organization and time management skills.
- Flexibility of schedule to accommodate event schedules.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must pass criminal background check.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
- Full Time - 40 hours per week
- Typical work week is M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends
- Must be flexible in schedule to accommodate early/late deliveries from vendors.
- This in an in-person position, based out of Millinocket, Maine with regular travel required to Bangor, Maine and occasional travel throughout the State.
