Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, supporting complex enterprise technology initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation and ongoing production support.
This role combines business and technical analysis, Agile delivery, data validation, systems integration, and risk management. The ideal candidate can translate business needs into clear technical requirements while collaborating with developers, architects, QA, cybersecurity, and business partners to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Technical Analysis
- Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for complex technology initiatives.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Analyze application functionality, APIs, integrations, data flows, and system dependencies.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend technology solutions.
Agile Delivery & Solution Implementation
- Support Agile teams through backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release activities.
- Track deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to support successful implementation.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Data Analysis & Systems Integration
- Use SQL and reporting tools to analyze and validate data.
- Document data mappings, interface requirements, and integration specifications.
- Develop operational and ad hoc reports to support business decision-making.
- Analyze APIs, web services, microservices, and enterprise application interactions.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Partner with development and cybersecurity teams to support vulnerability remediation.
- Help ensure technology solutions align with regulatory, audit, privacy, and enterprise security requirements.
- Support risk assessments and compliance reviews.
Testing & Production Support
- Assist with test planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, and release validation.
- Support incident and problem management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Develop operational procedures and technical support documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Mentoring
- Serve as a liaison among business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate meetings, communicate status, and help drive issue resolution.
- Provide guidance to junior analysts and promote business analysis best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of Business Systems Analyst experience supporting enterprise applications and technology initiatives.
- Experience developing business and technical requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows, and data mappings.
- Knowledge of SDLC, application architecture, systems integration, APIs, web services, and microservices.
- SQL experience for data analysis and validation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar delivery tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience supporting vulnerability management, security remediation, regulatory compliance, or audit requirements.
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or AppDynamics.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
