The Systems Director partners closely with hospital leadership to standardize processes, drive performance, and achieve system-wide objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Environmental Services across multiple acute care hospitals, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service delivery.
- Drive client, patient, and customer satisfaction through efficient, cost‑effective EVS operations that meet or exceed contractual performance standards
- Establish, standardize, and monitor EVS systems, processes, and performance metrics to support system‑wide strategic and operational objectives
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory agencies, accreditation standards, infection prevention protocols, and Compass Group policies and procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of EVS Directors and leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with hospital executives, nursing, infection prevention, and facilities leadership to align EVS services with clinical priorities and patient care initiatives.
- Oversee system‑level budgeting, financial planning, labor management, and expense control to ensure fiscal responsibility and contract compliance.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives focused on patient experience, safety outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence across facilities, including patient rounding and frontline engagement, to reinforce service excellence and responsiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred; Associate's degree with equivalent directly related experience considered
- Minimum of 7 years of healthcare support services experience (acute care hospital, health system, or long‑term care environment), with scope dependent upon formal education and training
- Multi‑site EVS leadership experience within acute care hospital operations highly preferred
- 9 years of progressive operational management experience, including workforce management, inventory control, and purchasing oversight
- Demonstrated expertise in Environmental Services operations with an emphasis on quality, productivity, sanitation, infection prevention, cost control, and presentation standards
- Experience with P&L accountability and/or contract‑managed services strongly preferred
- Proven leadership capabilities, including supervision, coaching, talent development, and performance management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage at all levels, including frontline associates, client leadership, and executive stakeholders
- Advanced financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other standard business and operational systems, including email and web‑based platforms.
