Quality Control Inspector Technician

The successful candidate will help ensure manufactured parts meet customer, engineering, and internal quality requirements through accurate inspection, documentation, and proper use of calibrated measurement equipment. Quality Control Inspectors typically evaluate machined or fabricated components for deviations from specifications using precision instruments and inspection methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed dimensional inspections of machined components against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Complete first-article inspections and prepare associated inspection reports and documentation.
- Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Use and maintain a variety of precision measurement tools, including optical comparators, profilometers, thread gauges, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and related inspection equipment.
- Verify that inspection tools and gauges are properly calibrated and suitable for use.
- Support gage repeatability and reproducibility studies, measurement-system analysis, and other quality activities as needed.
- Document inspection results accurately and communicate nonconforming conditions to appropriate production or quality personnel.
- Assist with in-process, final, and first-piece inspections to help ensure production conforms to requirements.
- Maintain organized inspection records and utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
- Follow established safety, quality, attendance, and workplace procedures.
- 5 years of quality inspection experience within a manufacturing, machining, or precision-production environment.
- Strong experience performing dimensional inspections on close-tolerance components.
- Demonstrated ability to complete first-article inspection documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience using precision metrology tools such as optical comparators, profilometers, height gauges, and thread gauges.
- Familiarity with calibration practices and gage-control procedures.
- Experience with Gage R&R studies is preferred.
- Coordinate measuring machine (CMM) experience is a plus, but not required.
- Solid math skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Consistent work history demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
