We are seeking a skilled and proactive Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for providing high-quality, multi-specialty surgical care.
The Circulating RN plays a critical role in coordinating safe, efficient patient care throughout the perioperative experience. This position involves advocating for patients, maintaining a safe and organized operating room, and ensuring the surgical team has the necessary equipment, supplies, and support before, during, and after procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the patient's advocate throughout the perioperative experience.
- Perform preoperative assessments, patient verification, and surgical-site confirmation.
- Ensure all required documentation, consents, equipment, and supplies are available before procedures.
- Maintain a safe, sterile, organized, and efficient operating room environment.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and promptly obtain necessary supplies and equipment.
- Monitor and support patient safety throughout the surgical procedure.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience in a circulating RN role. Candidates with 1 year of relevant OR experience are encouraged to apply.
- Clinical Setting: Previous Operating Room experience is required.
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude and commitment to clinical excellence.
