Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily machine shop operations.
- Lead, train, and mentor machinists, setup technicians, and machine operators.
- Perform and oversee setup of CNC mills and lathes.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software.
- Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and related equipment.
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ensure production schedules and delivery deadlines are met.
- Monitor quality standards and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
- Manage tooling inventory and recommend tooling improvements.
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, purchasing, and production departments.
- 5 years of machining experience, including CNC and manual equipment.
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a machine shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation of mills and lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- CNC programming experience with Fanuc, Hurco, Mazatrol, or similar controls.
- CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360 or equivalent).
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
- Job shop and production machining experience.
