What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead AV Technician position at W3Global?
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician to join our team.
We design, install, and support luxury residential and commercial projects throughout the Tampa Bay Area and Government projects throughout the U.S. (Although travel for government contracts is not required for this position). Our work includes audio/video, home automation, commercial AV, window treatments, networking, surveillance, structured cabling, lighting control, lighting design, and more.
We work with platforms and manufacturers such as Control4 and Q-SYS along with a wide range of high end AV, networking, lighting, and surveillance products.
We're looking for an experienced technician who can take ownership of projects in the field, solve problems independently, and consistently deliver professional work without needing constant supervision.
This is not an entry-level position.
What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for leading and completing installations from start through final commissioning and turnover.
That Includes
Leading installations in the field
Reading plans, scopes, and system documentation
Installing and troubleshooting AV, automation, networking, surveillance, structured cabling, lighting control, and related systems
Building clean, organized equipment racks
Coordinating with clients, builders, contractors, and other trades
Identifying and resolving issues in the field
Maintaining high standards for workmanship and jobsite professionalism
Helping guide and develop junior technicians as our field team grows
We value efficiency, but never at the expense of quality.
Experience We're Looking For
Candidates should have professional field experience across all of the following areas:
Audio/video installation
Home automation and control
Commercial AV
Structured cabling
Networking
Surveillance systems
Low-voltage installation
Experience with lighting control, system programming, and commissioning is strongly preferred.
Experience with platforms such as Control4 or Q-SYS is a major plus.
What matters most is that you understand how integrated systems come together, can troubleshoot effectively, and are comfortable taking responsibility for a project in the field.
