Lead A&P Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead A&P Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, inspection, and operational readiness of our aerial equipment, including aircraft, crop dusters, helicopters, drones, and other aerial vehicles.

The successful candidate will lead a team of aerial mechanics, coordinate maintenance activities, ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards, and maintain the highest levels of equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

A valid FAA A&P License and Inspection Authorization (IA) are required for consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aerial equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.
• Lead, mentor, train, and develop a team of aerial mechanics.
• Assign work, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and other applicable requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and aircraft documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to maintenance procedures and protocols.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations and flight teams to minimize disruption to flight activities.
• Communicate effectively with pilots, the Aircraft Maintenance Manager, operations personnel, and other stakeholders regarding aircraft status and maintenance requirements.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
• Manage inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Coordinate procurement of parts and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Develop, implement, and enforce maintenance and safety procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure the maintenance team consistently meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate - Required
• Valid Inspection Authorization (IA) - Required
• Minimum 5 years of aerial/aircraft maintenance experience
• Extensive experience working with crop dusters, helicopters, drones, and/or other aerial equipment
• Previous lead, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, FAA regulations, and industry standards
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance documentation
• Strong leadership and team-management skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  
  

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree, technical certification, or formal training in aviation maintenance or a related field preferred

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at various heights and in different weather conditions
• Primarily work in an aviation hangar and aircraft maintenance environment
• May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noises, and moving mechanical components
• Must follow strict safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer and administrative tasks
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements as required
