Survey CAD Technician

Position Summary
The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for preparing accurate survey drawings, plats, maps, and construction documents using CAD software. This position works closely with survey crews, project managers, engineers, and licensed surveyors to process field data and produce deliverables for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, easement, and construction surveys.

Position Summary
The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for preparing accurate survey drawings, plats, maps, and construction documents using CAD software. This position works closely with survey crews, project managers, engineers, and licensed surveyors to process field data and produce deliverables for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, easement, and construction surveys.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Process survey field data collected using GPS, total stations, laser scanners, and other survey equipment.
- Prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivision plats, easement plats, record plats, and construction staking exhibits.
- Draft survey maps, legal descriptions, and exhibits using CAD software.
- Create and maintain survey databases, point files, and linework.
- Review deeds, plats, title reports, and other survey records for drafting purposes.
- Perform calculations related to boundary closures, coordinates, areas, and alignments.
- Assist in the preparation of permit and agency submission documents.
- Coordinate with survey crews and project managers to ensure project accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain drafting standards and quality control procedures.
- Organize project files and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of survey drafting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Understanding of land surveying principles, terminology, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret deeds, plats, title commitments, and legal descriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Civil 3D Survey Database tools.
- Knowledge of state and local surveying standards.
- Experience preparing ALTA/NSPS surveys and subdivision plats.
- Familiarity with GIS software and point cloud processing.
- Survey Technician certification through the National Society of Professional Surveyors (preferred).

Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
