Job Description

Our defense firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of admitted insurance defense experience to manage and litigate complex general liability matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, experience handling cases from inception through resolution, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex general liability and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs.
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to develop effective defense strategies.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Communicate regularly with insurance carriers, adjusters, and clients regarding case status and strategy.
• Prepare detailed case evaluations, litigation plans, and status reports.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and documentation in compliance with firm and client guidelines.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents affecting insurance defense and liability litigation.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant state.
• Minimum of 3 years of admitted insurance defense experience.
• Proven experience handling general liability cases and civil litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience managing multiple cases and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
