Responsibilities
- Read job orders and set up press tooling, including dies, plates, and print cylinders.
- Load and mix inks to required specifications and maintain proper viscosity.
- Start and monitor the press, adjusting speed, alignment, and print registration as needed.
- Inspect approval strips for color accuracy, registration, print quality, and consistency.
- Perform routine maintenance on plates, cylinders, dies, ink pans, pumps, and press components.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct quality checks and make necessary adjustments to ensure defect-free output.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks as required.
- Mechanical Aptitude - Strong understanding of tools, machinery, equipment safety, and manufacturing processes.
- Teamwork & Communication - Works well with peers, shares feedback, and contributes to a positive, collaborative environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills - Capable of identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing practical solutions.
- Multitasking Ability - Able to manage multiple tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production setting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in flexographic printing, screen printing, label printing, or related packaging operations.
- Ability to read rulers, scales, and measurement tools accurately.
- Strong understanding of color, registration, and basic math (fractions, decimals, etc.).
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Manufacturing/production setting with moving machinery and ink/chemical exposure.
- Requires standing, walking, and manual handling throughout shift.
- Moderate noise environment with safety protocols in place.
