Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Construction
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and planning of large, complex construction projects (HVAC/plumbing/piping). This role is well suited for a technical leader who enjoys coordinating across teams, solving design challenges, and ensuring projects are developed with quality, accuracy, and constructability in mind.
Role Overview

You'll work closely with internal operations teams, project stakeholders, and other engineers to help develop scopes, review design progress, guide technical decisions, and support successful project delivery.

Role Overview
In this position, you will contribute to multiple phases of project development, from early design through closeout. You'll work closely with internal operations teams, project stakeholders, and other engineers to help develop scopes, review design progress, guide technical decisions, and support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead peer review of design progress and coordinate with operations on design and cost-related matters.
- Support development of scopes of work, schematic budgets, and engineering-only estimates.
- Collaborate with team members to align project goals and design direction.
- Lead internal commissioning efforts and help incorporate commissioning requirements early in the design process.
- Perform and oversee system design for mechanical and plumbing/piping systems.
- Select and size equipment, ductwork, and piping, and develop specifications and sequences of operation.
- Perform load calculations and compliance checks to ensure technical accuracy and code adherence.
- Maintain project documentation, calculation reports, and release packages.
- Develop design sketches and support or supervise modeling efforts.
- Participate in field walk-throughs, punch list creation, and project closeout activities.
- Update design documents to reflect as-built conditions.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
- 10 years of design engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer license required.
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing design is a plus.
- Occasional travel required.

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
