The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing many "high level" accounting and finance functions typically attributed to senior bank management and to the formal role of Bank Cashier, both at the bank and at the holding company level. This role requires a strong banking background, a strong accounting/bookkeeping background, and a strong compliance background.
Responsibilities
- Review core billing for reasonableness/accuracy, review activity analysis, run proper entries.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, interfacing with bank's accounting firm. Run proper entries.
- Make annuity and BOLI entries associated with associated retirement plans.
- Manage tenant leases, payments, associated entries, etc.
- Assist with FRY 9 and FRY 6 preparation (with Compliance Officer).
- Prepare and compile board reports from many departments into the board packages.
- Prepare various reports associated with holding company financials, analysis of income, liquidity, contingency funding, sector limitations, ALCO minutes, and others.
- Budget preparation, coordination and completion--CEO directs many functions, but this role compiles inputs from various sources into the main budget.
- Administers the Investment Portfolio, under the direction of the CEO, with various balancings, reports, municipal security reviews, interfacing with reports from UMB vendor, etc.
- OTTI limitations monitoring and reporting.
- Lines of credit testing.
- Call Report preparation (Compliance and Operations also assist with this function). UBPR retention.
- Year end Fixed Asset balancing, invoices, FF&E to accountants, obtain depreciation schedules from accountants for current and future year, and run appropriate entries.
- Fixed Asset declarations to be completed in April for counties, including identifying assets no longer in use.
- Assist on the Operations and Bookkeeping side as necessary.
- Generally ultimately responsible for overseeing and ensuring accuracy of all aspects of accounting, bookkeeping and operations in the bank.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned.
- Function and contribute as a member of bank management, including contributing in various committees, serving in the community, and helping to lead the bank and its employees.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent, or comparable banking experience required.
- Completion of Banking School preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bank accounting principles and practices required.
- At least 10 years in banking highly preferred.
- Ability to utilize bank software, spreadsheets, word processing, and other systems is necessary.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment toward a common goal.
- Remote work is not an option for this role--successful candidate will work daily in Estes Park bank headquarters.
