Opportunity Overview
- Position: Associate Laboratory Director
- Location: Newport Beach, California
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Includes monitoring and weekend call rotation
- Compensation: $230,000 - $250,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

- Set high standards for scientific application in ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology)
- Improve laboratory outcomes through data-driven approaches
- Enhance rigor in research, analysis, and methodology
- Contribute to KPIs and performance metrics
- Collaborate across laboratory locations to share best practices
- Lead quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and risk management practices
- Oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of laboratory personnel
- Manage team performance and accountability
- Optimize staffing and resource allocation
- Support employee development and engagement
- Partner with physicians to improve treatment plans using lab data
- Build relationships with external scientific and academic partners
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and organizational growth
- Manage laboratory budget and expenses
- Support revenue growth initiatives
- Participate in annual financial planning
- Maintain competency in all laboratory procedures
- Perform hands-on bench work (minimum 20%)
- Work on-site regularly

- Perform additional duties as assigned
What You'll Bring (Key Hiring Criteria for Recruiters)
- Doctoral Degree in:
- Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Certification Required:
- ABB Certification in Embryology (Mandatory - Non-negotiable)
- Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- Direct experience in Embryology / IVF / ART laboratory environment
- Certifications from:
- American Board of Medical Microbiology
- American Board of Clinical Chemistry
- American Board of Bioanalysis
- American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented and team-focused
- Proficiency in:
- Office 365
- EMR systems
- Email and communication tools
- Cybersecurity awareness
- Adaptability and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
